"A summer in the
Litchfield [hills] is always green and glorious, but how much
sweeter it becomes when the strains of jazz, pure and beautiful, are
carried on the summer wind.” (Litchfield County Times).
The
Litchfield Jazz Festival celebrates 13 years at the Goshen
Fairgrounds, August 1, 2, 3. This is not just great jazz, it’s a
great summer experience. From a sell-out Opening Night Gala and
three days of extraordinary jazz, to unique and beautiful crafts and
tasty treats ranging from terrific Thai to the best four-alarm
chili anywhere —this is a festival like no other.
Over the years we have
presented legends like Dave Brubeck, Tito Puente, Ray Charles and
Slide Hampton as well as introduced new talent and fostered the
careers of Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit, Matt Wilson, Don
Braden and many others. Visit our
history page for a complete line-up history.
As
always there’s a lot more including performances by the amazing
students of the Litchfield Jazz Camp. Don’t miss the opening night
Friends of the Festival Party at its new location, the Winvian
luxury resort, and for VIP treatment all weekend,
become a Best Friend of the Festival and support our talented
scholarship campers.
